THE ART OF VICTOR STABIN

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Victor Stabin started his art career as an illustrator. After departing illustration, he created the “Turtle Series” – a suite of allegorical biographic oil paintings. Distracted and inspired by reading way too many ABC Books to his daughters, he decided to author his version of the genre, using the dictionary as a muse and created Daedal Doodle the ABC Book for the Ages. Daedal Doodle’s creative platform has evolved from its alliterative characters, into stories which are now becoming animations.
Influenced by the Surrealists, 19th Century Japanese watercolor print artists, 20th Century Advertising Art, the spirit of the Italian Renaissance, the ecological fragility of life and the dictionary. Torn between painting and the Daedal Doodle platform, Victor sees himself as an Eco-Surrealistic Alliterator with no retirement in sight.
Below is a sampling of Victor’s artwork.
